Image Procedures: OGDS H Pylori


This is an OGDS finding of a 26 years old male who presented with chronic epigastric pain for 3/12 duration and recent onset of passing out haematemesis. The OGDS picture shows a Forest 2C ulcer (covered with hematin) and the Pronto test is positive. The patient was diagnosed with Peptic Ulcer Disease with H Pylori infection. He was then treated with triple therapy consist of T. Omeprazole 40 mg OD, T. Metronidazole 400 mg t.d.s and T. Amoxicillin 500 mg Q.I.D for two weeks duration. On follow up two weeks later, his symptoms improving.

  1. took me awhile to figure out what OGDS was because where I studied, they used EGDS.
